Review: Bossypants

Bossypants

Bossypants by Tina Fey
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Almost everyone I know who read this gave it rave reviews. I thought it was sweet, but maybe I waited to long to read it and missed the buzz. I love and respect Tina Fey, but maybe I spent too much time reading this in Liz Lemon voice to fully enjoy it. I loved her admiration of her father, and really enjoyed her recounting of the Sarah Palin sketches. The rest of it was cute, but I don’t think I would consider it rave-able. Still, a quick read, I laughed out loud at a few parts, and I’ve heard the audiobook is great!

Review: In The Woods

In The Woods (Dublin Murder Squad, #1)

In The Woods by Tana French
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

It’s been awhile since I stayed up late to finish a book. This one was worth it. Solid murder mystery with a great dismal tone, likeable characters, and just enough creepiness to keep it interesting… And unlike several things I’ve been reading recently, I loved the ending. Nice neat package, ready for Book #2 while standing on its own just fine.
